Control valve in lift is stuck or internal linkage has stuck. Is the pump "squeeling" ....

I have experienced this problem when there was no load on the lift arms. What I found (on several occasions I'm ashamed to say) was that with no load the arms tended to come up to a point where the 'shaft that drive them actually came out of its working region. To correct this I had to pull the back cover off and realign the shaft witht he hole then tap on the arms to get it started back through. Of course you could also have a valve problem where the speed control valve for the drop was not allowing the fluid to release. You should be able to check either one of these items with relative ease. ....
